Dr Pierre Milpied is the team leader of the Department of Integrative B Cell Immunology at the Centre d'Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (CIML), France. After a multidisciplinary engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique and an MSc in Cancer Science, he obtained his PhD from the Imagine Institute, Paris, working on mouse and human T cell subsets. Then, he moved to The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, USA, to work on B cell immunity as a Postdoctoral scientist. In 2014, he joined CIML to apply single-cell analysis methods to the study of B cell immunity and lymphomas. Since then, he was recruited as a junior scientist by Inserm in 2016 and has been selected to lead his own research group at CIML in 2018.

For the last seven years, he has been designing and leading original research at the crossroads of B cell Immunology, Cancer Science, and Bioinformatics. Using innovative approaches, the team of Pierre Milpied is deciphering the molecular code of Germinal Centers’ biology, giving insight on how to design personalised and precision medicine to treat many lymphomas and solid cancers.

Dr Pierre Milpied has been awarded the Postdoctoral Fellowship from Fondation Bettencourt-Schueller, the Postdoctoral Fellowship from Foundation ARC and the National Research Agency Young Investigator Program (ANR JCJC). He is additionally a co-founding member of the French Society of Immunology’s Germinal Center Club (GC club) and a member of the Turing Centre for Living Systems (CenTuri), Engineering and Tech Transfer Committee.
